All About My Career

In 2020, the industry and economy were both extremely effected by Covid, lots of big tech companies started to lay off and reclind offers, and that's the time I graduated.

Luckily, I was offered with a Data Analyst job from Acumen, of whom my university is the target university. Then I moved to Bay Area. However, my engineer dream never vanished. It took me a year to do the internal transfer and soon I got an MLE offer from VideoAmp, a South Bay area D-series advertising service startup

What Drives Me

When I was 18, I joined the top agriculture university(CAU) in China and chose studying Agronomy as my major. In the second year, I realized my interest in Computer Science when taking the C language course, which drives me easily getting the highest score among all the other engineering students.

After realizing that, I started planning my future career by searching all Biostatistics/Bioinformatics master programs in the most famous universities in U.S, reading the requirement and figuring out what can make me a strong candidate. Then I spent the next 2 years achieving high Toefl & GRE score, conducting researching in China's most pretigious university-Tsinghua and Peking University. Eventually, I got the admission offer with scholarship from Carnegie Mellon University, along with another offer from Columbia University. To be honest, Carnegie Mellon University was my dream and my drive, however, I chose Columbia because I love New York, I love crowded cities, lighting building that never stops shining.

My memorable places

New York

New York is my first site in U.S.. I arrived in JFK with classmates, taking a uber to the 170st in Manhatton. Building in dark red with elite people wearing physician suits, we saw lots of medical students since we belong to CUMC. The funny fact is that, most of members in CUMC Orchestra are medical students.
